Ayurvedic Properties and Effects:

  • Sharpunkha is anti-phlegm and anti-pleuritic. 
  • Its exterior is inflammatory, leprosy, toxic, animal, ulcerative, blood-resistant and dental. 
  • In internal use, it is a lamp, worming, spleen, blood purifier, expectorant, diuretic and uterine stimulant. 

Medicinal use quantity and method:

  • Goiter: This is an Ayurvedic process. Take the root of Sharpunkha, rub it in water and apply it lukewarm on the affected parts of the body.
  • Kasa: The roots of the plant are so beneficial in cough, that the smoke of dried root is used as a medicinal remedy.
  • Respiratory Disease: You can treat diseases like asthma, rheumatism and constipation by eating 2 grams of dried figs along with honey thrice a day. 

 

Ayurveda uses the entire plant, including the leaves, blossoms, and fragile twigs.
Sarphoka balances the Vata and Kapha doshas, according to Ayurveda.
